SALAR DE UYUNI AND COLORED LAGOONS 3D-2N – PRIVATE SERVICE

FIRST DAY: UYUNI – UYUNI SALAR – TAHUA

We pick you up from your hotel at hrs. At approximately 11:00, initially we will visit the Colchani Train Cemetery and Town, places to learn about the mining past and the artisanal present of the town of Uyuni, then we will enter the wonderful Salar de Uyuni and we will arrive at the “Salt Hotel” on the first of its kind, which currently functions as a museum. On our way we will be able to observe fantastic optical illusions that are accentuated in the rainy season (between December and March) and also the “Water Eyes”, which are small salt eruptions that will help us understand the formation process of this infinite sea. of salt.

At noon we arrive at Incahuasi Island in the center of the salt flat, where we can observe large populations of cacti, sea rock fossils, local fauna and spectacular views of the salt flat from the summit of the island.

We continue to the northern part of the salt flat, where we will visit a local museum to observe pre-Columbian mummies, and later arrive at the Salar viewpoint at the foot of the Thunupa volcano.

Late in the afternoon, we arrive at the town of Tahua to spend the night.

SECOND DAY: TAHUA – SILOLI DESERT

Leaving the salt flat behind, we cross the Lípez volcanic region with its eternal snow, where we can find the Ollagüe Volcano that we can see in the distance. We restart our trip heading to the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve. On the way we will be able to observe the lagoons called “Joyas Altoandinas”: Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota and Honda, where it is possible to observe the three types of flamingos that exist in the region: James , Andean and Chilean, as well as a variety of local birdlife.

Later we will enter the “Siloli Desert” with stops to take photographs of the impressive scenery that this desert presents, overnight in the desert in an exotic rustic hotel in the “middle of nowhere”.

THIRD DAY: SILOLI DESERT – GREEN LAGOON – UYUNI

This day we need to get up very early to go out at hrs. 06:30 approximately, the first activity is a visit to the famous rock formation called the “Stone Tree”, later we enter the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna Reserve and arrive at the “Sol de la Mañana” geysers, fumaroles and craters with volcanic lava. Afterwards we will enjoy a bath in hot springs to continue through the Reserve, along the way we will enjoy the panoramic observation of the “Dali Desert” with rocks that resemble the work of the great surrealist painter, in addition to visiting the Green Lagoon at the feet of the Licancabur Volcano.

We begin our return to Uyuni by visiting Laguna Colorada, an impressive water reservoir with sediments and algae that give it shades of brown to intense red that make it particularly beautiful. In the afternoon we will walk through the great “Valley of Rocks”, with remains of volcanic rocks that vary between 8 and 15 meters in altitude. Finally we will stop in the town of San Cristóbal, a town moved in its entirety to its current location for the construction of the largest mine in Bolivia.

Arrival in Uyuni at hrs. 6:00 p.m. approximately.
