First day: Lima City Tour with a visit to Huaca Pucllana

We’ll start our tour in the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We’ll explore the financial center, Golf, El Olivar, Huaca Pucllana (a pre-Inca ceremonial pyramid temple), and Love Park on the Miraflores boardwalk. Continuing our journey, we’ll head towards Lima’s Historic Center, where we’ll visit San Martin Square, its balconies, old mansions, and finally enter one of the most important 17th-century convents. A complete tour with the comfort and attention of modern tourist services.

Second day: Lima to Iquitos Flight - Welcome to Heliconia Amazon River Lodge and visit to the Amazon Rainforest Reserve

Reception at Iquitos airport, transfer to our office, induction about the tour and our services, what to do and not to do in the jungle. Transfer to Iquitos Port to board a speedboat and begin the adventure in one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.

During the journey, you can observe the “Wedding of the Rivers” where the Nanay River meets the Amazon and enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Peruvian jungle.

On the way, you will visit Monkey Island, where endangered monkey species of the Amazon are protected and preserved. The aim of this family-run company is to show visitors the daily work in the process of reintegrating primates into their natural habitat, as well as the development of their survival instinct in nature. You will appreciate the different species of monkeys that are completely free within this reserve; where their stay will depend on their ability to re-adapt to nature. We continue the journey until we reach Heliconia Lodge, where you will have your first encounter with the exotic flavors of our Amazon with a refreshing drink of exotic fruits from the region. Room assignment. Lunch.

In the afternoon, a guided walk for approximately 2 hours where you can identify various species of flora such as Heliconia flowers, medicinal plants, and giant trees; you will observe various bird species such as the Turkey Vulture (Cathartes Aura), Black Fronted Nunbird (Monasa-Atia), some families of small monkeys such as marmosets (saguinus fusicollis), Titi (Callicebus Mollock Mollock), and squirrel monkey (Saimiri Boliviense).

Return to the lodge to rest in hammocks by the majestic Amazon River or enjoy the pool. At dusk, you will have an idyllic moment with the Amazon sunset. In the evening, we will enjoy a magical open boat ride through one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, accompanied by the glows of flora and fauna and the splendid shine of the moon, as well as the stars and constellations. At the appearance of a shooting star, which are common in this area and tend to dazzle us with their brilliant journey, you can make a wish. Dinner.

Reserva de Yanamono

Third day: Visit to the Yaguas Community

Early bird watching, you will appreciate how the various birds gather in search of their morning food, you may see some species such as Tuki (Jacana Jacana), Ringed Kingfisher (Ceryle-Torquata), Black-Collared Hawk (Busarellus nigricollis), among others. Return to the Lodge, breakfast.

Visit to the Yaguas community where you will learn about their culture, customs, and traditions. You will have the opportunity to participate in the use of the “Pucuna” (Blowgun), the main hunting instrument. Return to the lodge and lunch. In the afternoon; Artisanal Fishing expedition, in one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, where you will learn about artisanal fishing techniques, as well as piranha fishing and you can take what you catch to the lodge for preparation during lunch; during this excursion is the perfect opportunity to see river pink dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis). Return to the lodge to enjoy dinner.

At night, dare to walk through nature within the lodge’s perimeters and witness the charming transformation of the jungle into a nocturnal environment. As you adapt to the dark environment of the jungle, you will appreciate how nature takes on a different character and observe the various habits of nocturnal animals, this is the best time to appreciate frogs, shy snakes, and other creatures that only move during the night. You will witness the nocturnal fauna that is so different from what is usually found during the day, in addition to being accompanied by the magical symphony of the jungle where sounds of insects, birds, felines, and owls harmonize to give you a sensory experience. After this approximately 30-minute tour, we will proceed to return to the lodge to enjoy dinner and rest peacefully.

Delfin Rosado

Fourth day: Departure from Iquitos - Lima.

After breakfast, transfer by boat to a lake on Yanamono Island, where you will delight in the majestic Victoria Regia, the queen of aquatic lilies. Currently known as the Amazon Lily, this flower native to shallow waters of the Amazon River basin mostly grows in lakes and swamps. We will probably be able to appreciate some white flowers on its first day of flowering, turning pink on its second day. This imposing plant of lakes and swamps can grow up to 1 meter in diameter and is pollinated by beetles. The Amazon Lily is well known for its immense circular leaf, which is usually shown with a child sitting in the center of its leaf to appreciate its magnitude and strength.

Return to the Lodge for the farewell lunch. Check-out, and transfer to Iquitos.

Depending on the schedules of your return flight to Lima, the transfer to the airport will be arranged

Atardecer Puerto

Fifth day: "Ballestas Islands" and "Paracas Reserve"

After breakfast, we will transfer to the port of Paracas, where we will start the tour to the Ballestas Islands passing by “El Candelabro,” a giant image on the slope of a hill. Upon reaching the Ballestas Islands, you will visit the different islands for two hours, observing the different species of sea lions, seals, penguins, and guano birds. After arriving at the port, we will take the tour to the Paracas Reserve. In the afternoon, we will head to the bus terminal in the city of “Paracas” for you to take your bus to the city of “Ica”. The journey usually takes 3 hours, and once in the city of Ica, our staff will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. 

Islas Ballestas

Sixth day: "City Tour in Ica" and "Huacachina Lagoon"

After enjoying a good breakfast, our clients are picked up from the comfort of their hotel at the indicated time. Then we will start our tour of the city of Ica, with a visit to an old winery where grape brandy is made, known worldwide as “Pisco”. Here, we can learn the entire process of making pisco, guided by an experienced winery worker. After visiting the winery facilities, visitors will be invited to taste the different types of piscos and wines produced.

Huacachina

Seventh day: "Overflight of the Nazca Lines"

In the morning, after breakfast, we will transfer you to the Nazca airport for a 30-minute overflight over the Nazca Lines, where the ancient pre-Incas drew gigantic figures of animals and plants for a still undiscovered purpose, many believe that these figures were made by aliens, among which are the monkey, the spider, the hummingbird, etc. Then we will visit the “Chauchillas Cemetery”, which is a necropolis dating back over 1000 years and belongs to the period of the Ica-Chincha culture, after the tour we will transfer passengers to the Nazca bus terminal for their trip to the city of “Arequipa” which usually takes 10 hours, in this city our staff will transfer you from the bus terminal to your hotel in Lima where you will spend the night. 

Lineas de Nazca

Eighth day: "City Tour in the White City of Arequipa"

After a good rest in the morning, in the afternoon, you will be picked up to take the tour of the “White City”. In the evening, we will visit one of the most traditional restaurants in Arequipa where you can taste exquisite typical dishes of the White City and enjoy an artistic show of Music and Arequipa folklore, then you will be transferred to the hotel. 

Arequipa

Ninth day: "Heading to Colca Canyon and Vicuñas Reserve"

Early in the morning, departure by private bus to Colca Canyon, passing through the foothills of Chachani volcano. During the journey, we will cross the Cañahuas and Arrieros plains where the Vicuñas National Reserve is located, as well as Vizcachani, La Pulpera, Callalli, Sibayo, and Tuti Villages. You will reach an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level where you will appreciate the flora and fauna of the beautiful natural lagoons of Bofedales and Mar Atrapado along with giant rocks shaped like castles. We will arrive at Chivay, in the Colca Valley, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the La Calera Hot Springs, where we will spend about an hour and a half. These thermal baths have medicinal waters that exceed 40 degrees; good for bodily ailments. Accommodation in the Colca Valley. 

Reserva de Vicuñas

Tenth day: "Colca Canyon and Condor Viewing"

In the morning, departure to the “Cruz del Condor,” where the Canyon begins, allowing us to appreciate its depth. From this point, we will also be able to see the condor in its natural habitat. After a brief stop at the “Cruz del Condor,” we will continue our journey through Colca Canyon, admiring the small villages of Pinchocclo, Madrigal, Lari, Maca, Achoza, Yanque, etc., until we reach Chivay where we will take the tourist bus to Puno. The journey takes approximately 5 hours, and in Puno, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. 

Mirador de Condores

Eleventh day: Tour to Lake Titicaca, Uros Islands, and Taquile

We will take you to the port of Puno (Lake Titicaca) where you will embark on the boat that will take you to visit the Floating Islands of the Uros for a 45-minute visit, where you will appreciate the customs of this island and its craftsmanship. Continuing the boat tour, you will visit Taquile Island, of great scenic, ethnic, cultural, and archaeological value. We will return to the Port of Puno, where you will be picked up and taken to the Hotel, or if you wish, you can stay in downtown Puno. Finally, you will spend the night in the selected hotel. 

Lago Titicaca

Twelfth day: Tourist trip from Puno to Cusco visiting "Raqchi"

After a good breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the bus station of the company that will take us on a journey that lasts approximately 8 hours. We will have 4 excursions and guided visits to the tourist attractions of the southern highlands corridor, visiting the Inca Aymara Museum of Pukara, continuing the tour we will reach the highest point of the entire tour at the La Raya pass, located at 4335 meters above sea level. Finally, and closer to the city of Cusco, we will visit the Temple of Andahuaylillas, also known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Upon arriving in “Cusco,” our staff will be waiting for you to welcome you and then drive you to your hotel. 

Raqchi

Thirteenth day: City tour in Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the morning free to stroll and shop for crafts and souvenirs from Cusco on your own. After your lunch, starting at 13:00 hrs, we will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the city of Cusco and its surroundings. This excursion includes a visit to: the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Temple of Koricancha, and the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay, and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. At 19:00 hrs.

City Tour Cusco

Fourteenth day: Free day in Machu Picchu "The lost city of the Incas"

We will pick you up from your hotel in the city of Cusco 1 hour before the departure of your train, and we will take you to the train station, located in the town of Poroy. Then we will board the train operated by “PERURAIL” and start the journey from Poroy – Cusco to the town of “Aguas Calientes” (2000 meters above sea level), which lasts 4 hours. Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes, we will head to our Hotel. Our guide will meet you at night to provide you with the necessary information for your tour day; if you wish, you can visit the Hot Springs or buy local crafts.

Machupicchu

Fifteenth day: Sunrise view of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu

Early in the morning and after breakfast, we will ascend to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, then you will take a guided tour of Machu Picchu, for 2 hours, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the Cemeteries. Then you will have free time to take a walk around the citadel and the morning in Machu Picchu to relax, take photos, and be in this mystical place. Optional: you can hike to the top of Huayna Picchu, which will take a few hours round trip (This visit is without a guide). Then we will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting for you to transport you by bus to the city of Cusco. 

Amanecer Machupicchu

Sixteenth day: Tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas

We will pick you up at 08:00 am, and the tour will start with a stop at the natural viewpoint of Corao, where the guide will give you an introduction to the Sacred Valley. The tour will continue enjoying a beautiful landscape; the first place to visit will be the traditional Indian market of Pisaq, where you can buy souvenirs or handicrafts. You will ascend to the Archaeological Center of Pisaq where after a short walk you will reach the main Inca enclosures. Continuing the journey, you will head to the town of Urubamba where, in an exclusive restaurant, you can taste local cuisine. In the afternoon, we will visit the Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to watch over the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by jungle dwellers. Today, Ollantaytambo is considered the living Inca town for the conservation of customs and urbanistic style that still have its streets. On the way back to Cusco, we will visit the picturesque village of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will also admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the porch. 

Valle Sagrado de los Incas

Seventeenth day: Farewell and flight from Cusco to Lima

After enjoying a good breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel where you are staying and take you to the airport in the city of Cusco, which is a few minutes from downtown Cusco. We must be at least one hour before to do the flight confirmation procedures. After checking in with the airline we will fly and pay the airport tax, we will say goodbye and you will take the flight from Cusco to Lima.
