First Day: City tour in Lima with a visit to Huaca Pucllana

Upon arrival in Lima, you will be greeted by our staff and transferred to the hotel. We will start our tour by exploring the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will visit the financial center, the Golf, El Olivar, the Huaca Pucllana (a pre-Inca ceremonial temple in the shape of a pyramid), and the Love Park on the Malecón de Miraflores. Continuing our tour, we will head to the Historic Center of Lima, where we will visit San Martin Square, its balconies, old mansions, the Main Square with its most important buildings, and finally, we will enter one of the most important convents of the 17th century. A complete tour with the comfort and attention of modern tourist service.

Second Day: Travel from Lima to Iquitos - Welcome to Heliconia Amazon River Lodge and visit to Yanamono Reserve

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Lima airport for a flight to Iquitos (Flight duration approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes). You will be welcomed at the baggage claim area of the International Airport of Iquitos, where lodge representatives will assist and transfer you to our office in Iquitos. After a short wait, you will be transferred to the Port of Iquitos where you will board one of our speedboats that will take you to the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge along the Amazon River. Upon arrival at the lodge, our staff will welcome you with a refreshing fruit juice from the region. Then, proceed with check-in and accommodation in your respective room, so you can freshen up and immediately proceed to the lodge’s restaurant to enjoy your first Amazonian meal. In the afternoon, start your first excursion accompanied by our experienced guides walking through the Yanamono reserve for approximately 2 hours. There, they will teach you to identify various species of flora such as heliconia flowers, medicinal plants, and giant trees. We will return to the lodge to enjoy a few hours of rest and relaxation, and also be captivated by your first sunset in the Amazon. As night falls, especially during the river’s rising season, we will enjoy a magical open boat ride through one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, without any lighting, accompanied only by some flashes of the flora and fauna of the jungle. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest to recharge for the activities the next morning.

Reserva de Yanamono

Third Day: Expedition to the Yanamono Reserve

We start the day with a bird watching excursion, appreciating how the various birds gather in search of their morning food, starting very early by boat to one of the ravines where you can see the greatest variety of birds. After returning to the lodge for an energizing breakfast and a short rest, we prepare to be part of the Artisanal Fishing expedition, for which we will be transported to one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, where we will learn about the artisanal fishing techniques, as well as piranha hunting, and also the opportunity to see the friendly pink river dolphins. We return to the lodge to enjoy a typical regional lunch. In the afternoon, we will take a short boat ride to a lake on Yanamono Island, where we can see the majestic Victoria Regia, the queen of aquatic lilies. Currently known as the Amazonian Victoria, this flower native to shallow waters of the Amazon River basin mostly grows in lakes and swamps. At night, dare to walk through nature within the lodge’s perimeter and witness the charming transformation of the jungle into a nocturnal environment. We will be able to distinguish a completely different range of fauna from what is usually found during the day, listening to the magical sounds of insects, birds, felines, and owls. After 30 minutes of walking, we will proceed to return to the lodge to enjoy dinner and rest peacefully.

Delfin Rosado

Fourth Day: Departure from Iquitos - Lima.

Enjoy an excellent breakfast before visiting a rustic Amazonian Trapiche, a 10-minute boat ride takes us to an alembic located on the banks of the river. They will teach us how the inhabitants of this area process sugarcane extract using horses and sugarcane juice fermented in wooden barrels, which after a certain storage time becomes liquor. Taste the variety of exotic regional drinks obtained from sugarcane liquor and molasses; perhaps you can acquire some bottles of this exquisite liquor to take home as a gift. We return to the lodge for our farewell lunch, proceed with the check-out, and depart for Iquitos. Depending on the schedules of your return flight to Lima, you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight from Iquitos to Lima, where our staff will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Lima. Atardecer Puerto

Fifth Day: Trip to Paracas and visit to the "Paracas Reserve"

This morning we will transfer you from the hotel in Lima to the bus terminal to Paracas. Then, we will visit the Paracas Reserve. This tour will give us the opportunity to see fabulous maritime and desert landscapes, as well as learn about the ancient Paracas man, who inhabited this area more than 2000 years ago. We will also be able to observe the flamingos or Parihuana, then we will take a tour of the Paracas Peninsula, observing the reddish-colored desert, yellow, formations made by the winds and visiting its beautiful beaches, Red Beach, La Mina Beach, and Lagunillas Beach for a relaxing swim in one of its beautiful beaches. Finally, we will return to our hotel

Islas Ballestas

Sixth Day: Tour to the "Ballestas Islands"

After having our breakfast, we will transfer to the port of Paracas, where we will start the tour to the Ballestas Islands passing through “El Candelabro,” a gigantic image on the slope of a hill. Upon arrival at the Ballestas Islands, we will visit the different islands for two hours, observing the different species of sea lions, seals, penguins, and guano birds. Then we will head to the bus station for you to take your bus to the city of “Ica,” the trip generally takes 3 hours, already in the city of Ica our staff will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. 

Seventh day: "City tour in Ica" and "Huacachina Lagoon"

After having a good breakfast, our clients are picked up from the comfort of their hotel at the indicated time. Then we will start our tour of the city of Ica, with a visit to an old winery where grape brandy is made, known worldwide as “Pisco”. Here we can learn the whole process of how pisco is made, guided by an experienced winery worker. After visiting the winery facilities, visitors will be invited to taste or try the different types of piscos and wines that the winery produces. Our tour continues with a visit to the Ica Regional Museum, where visitors can appreciate interesting ancient remains of the different cultures that developed in the Ica department. Finally, we will head to the Huacachina Oasis, which is located just 5 km from the center of the city of Ica. In this beautiful lagoon, visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the place and walk around looking for good photos. The huge dunes surrounding the lagoon allow visitors to practice one of the most fascinating sports in the area, sandboarding, and finally, the night will be spent at the selected hotel.

Huacachina

Eighth day: Overflight to the Nazca Lines

In the morning, after breakfast, we will transfer you to the Nazca airport for a 30-minute overflight above the Nazca Pampas, where the ancient pre-Incas drew gigantic figures of animals and plants with a still undiscovered purpose. Many believe these figures were made by extraterrestrials, including the monkey, the spider, the hummingbird, etc. Then, we will visit the “Chauchillas Cemetery,” a necropolis dating back over 1000 years belonging to the Ica-Chincha culture period. After the tour, we will transfer passengers to the Nazca bus terminal for their journey to the city of “Arequipa,” which usually takes 10 hours. In this city, our staff will transfer you from the bus terminal to your hotel in Arequipa where you will spend the night. 

Lineas de Nazca

Ninth day: City Tour in the White City of Arequipa

After a good rest in the morning, in the afternoon, you will be picked up for the tour of the “White City.” You will visit the Convent of Santa Catalina, undoubtedly the gem of Arequipa, finally opened to the public in 1970 after having been in seclusion for 400 years, with an uncountable number of colonial art pieces. You will also visit the Plaza de Armas, the cloisters of the Society of Jesus, and the neighborhoods of Cayma and Yanahuara, with a magnificent view of the Misti Volcano, and visit a traditional colonial house called the Mansion of the Founder. In the evening, we will visit one of the most traditional restaurants in Arequipa where you can taste exquisite typical dishes of the White City and enjoy an artistic show of Arequipa’s music and folklore. Then, you will be transferred to the hotel. 

Arequipa

Tenth day: Towards the Colca Canyon and Vicuña Reserve

Early in the morning, departure by private bus to the Colca Canyon, passing through the foothills of the Chachani volcano. During the trip, we will cross the Cañahuas and Arrieros meadows, where the Vicuña National Reserve is located, as well as Vizcachani, La Pulpera, Callalli, Sibayo, and Tuti Villages. You will reach an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level where you will appreciate the flora and fauna of the beautiful natural lagoons of Bofedales and Mar Atrapado along with giant rocks in the shape of castles. We will arrive at Chivay, in the Colca Valley, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, visit to the La Calera hot springs, where we will stay for about an hour and a half. These baths have thermo-medicinal waters, which exceed 40 degrees; good for bodily ailments. Accommodation in the Colca Valley. 

Reserva de Vicuñas

Eleventh day: Colca Canyon and Condor viewing

In the morning, departure to the “Cruz del Condor,” where the Canyon begins, being able to appreciate its depth. From this point, we can also see the condor in its natural habitat. After a brief stop at the “Cruz del Condor,” we will continue our journey through the Colca Canyon admiring the small towns of Pinchocclo, Madrigal, Lari, Maca, Achoza, Yanque, etc., until we reach Chivay where we will take the tourist bus to Puno, the trip lasts approximately 5 hours, in Puno, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. 

Mirador de Condores

Twelfth day: Tour to Lake Titicaca, Uros Islands, and Taquile

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the port of Puno (Lake Titicaca) where you will board the boat to visit the Floating Islands of the Uros for a period of 45 minutes, where you will appreciate the customs of this island and its craftsmanship. Then, we will also transfer by boat to visit Taquile Island with great landscape, ethnic, cultural, and archaeological value. Then we will return by boat to the Port of Puno, where we will pick you up and take you to the Hotel or if you wish we can drop you off in the center of Puno, and finally, you will spend the night at the selected hotel. 

Lago Titicaca

Thirteenth day: Tourist trip from Cusco to Puno visiting "Raqchi"

After a good breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the bus station of the company that will take us on a journey that lasts approximately 8 hours, we will have 4 excursions and guided visits to the tourist attractions of the southern highland corridor visiting the temple of Andahuaylillas or the Sistine Chapel of America, the Inca temple of Raqchi, at noon in the city of Sicuani we will have included in the tour a Buffet lunch, from there we will continue the tour arriving at the Raya pass at 4335 meters above sea level and the Inca Aymara museum of Pukara. Each visit has a duration of 20 to 40 minutes, where the passenger can ask questions, take photos, and walk a little, making our excursions pleasant. Upon arrival in “Cusco” we will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel where you will spend the night.

Raqchi

Fourteenth day: City tour in Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the morning free to stroll and shop for crafts and souvenirs from Cusco on your own. After your lunch, starting at 13:30 hrs, we will begin the guided tour that includes visiting the millennial city center of Cusco, the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Monastery of Santo Domingo, the Koricancha Temple, and the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay, and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, built with huge rocks that still remain an enigma the mobilization and use of these, there being no stone quarries in the area. City Tour Cusco

Fifteenth day: Tour to Machu Picchu "The Lost City of the Incas"

We will pick you up from your hotel in the city of Cusco 1 hour before the departure of your train, and we will take you to the train station, located in the town of Poroy, then we will board the train of the company “PERU RAIL” and we will start the journey from Poroy – Cusco to the town of “Aguas Calientes” (2000 meters above sea level) which lasts 4 hours. Upon arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes, we will go to our Hotel, our guide will pick you up at night to provide you with necessary information for your tour day, if you wish you can visit the Hot Springs or buy crafts from the place.

Machupicchu

Sixteenth day: Sunrise view of Machu Picchu and Huaynapicchu

After getting up very early and having breakfast, we will climb to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, then we will take a guided tour with our guide through the Machu Picchu citadel, for a period of 2 hours, during the tour you will visit the most important precincts of this city such as: the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, The Royal Quarters, the temple of the Three Windows, and the Cemeteries. After the tour of the Machupicchu citadel optionally: you can trek to the top of Huaynapicchu or the Mountain sector, this will take a few hours, during which you can enjoy the landscape and take some impressive views (This visit is without a Guide). Then we will go down by bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting for you, to transport you by bus to the city of Cusco and take you to your hotel.

Amanecer Machupicchu

Seventeenth day: Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas

This day we will take the tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a tour that we will start at 08:00 in the morning, picking you up from the hotel to go to Pisaq, which is a typical market, with picturesque terraces cultivated on the mountain. We will visit the archaeological group of Pisaq. It is also famous for its Fairs where you can buy beautiful handicrafts. Then we will go to Urubamba where we have included a buffet lunch. Then we will go to the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, where there are descendants of the Incas who live in the houses of the Incas. Finally, we will go to Chinchero to see its market and the archaeological group with typical Spanish superpositions to the Inca constructions. The tour will end around 19:00 hrs in the Plaza de Armas de Cusco. We will spend the night in a selected hotel in Cusco. 

Valle Sagrado de los Incas

Eighteenth day: Tour to Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca

Very early, at 4:00 in the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in our private tourist transportation to head south of the city, to Cusipata – Paucarpata. The journey will last approximately 2 hours, during which we’ll enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast including scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit salad, hot beverages, etc. We’ll continue for about 40 more minutes to the control point, where we’ll begin our hike. Once at this point, our guide will provide instructions and recommendations about the route, along with final details, before we start the hike.

The hike will take us approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain, at 5020 meters above sea level. Along the way, we’ll observe the fauna and flora of the area, highlighting the llamas and alpacas grazing and the shepherds dressed in beautiful typical regional attire. We’ll then pass through beautiful ravines and head to the highest parts, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, including Ausangate.

Almost reaching the top, we’ll observe the change of landscape: the colorful mountain range of Vinicunca. We’ll arrive at this point between 10:30 and 11:00 in the morning. Here, our guide will explain in detail about the topography, ecosystem, and color of the mountain, before taking some of the most beautiful photos of Rainbow Mountain.

After enjoying the beautiful landscape from 5080 meters above sea level, we’ll take the return route passing by the Red Valley viewpoint of red mountains. Walking on this ecosystem considered an Andean desert will be our last stop before returning to Llaqto, where our vehicle will be waiting.

Next, we’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with a variety of Andean food. Then, we’ll return to the city of Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.

Montaña de Colores

Nineteenth day: Farewell and return flight from Cusco to Lima

After a good breakfast, we’ll pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport in the city of Cusco, just minutes away from the city center. We should be there at least an hour before to complete the flight confirmation procedures and pay the airport tax. After checking in with the airline and paying the airport tax, we’ll bid farewell and you’ll take the flight from Cusco to Lima.
