Tour in the Sacred Valley 1 day visit: Pisaq, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero
This tour starts at approximately 8:00 a.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m. We will pick you up at your hotel, to have a guided visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will have a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac and we will visit the typical Indian market of Pisac, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of its inhabitants, as well as purchase products made by them. Then we go to the City of Urubamba, traveling along the banks of the Vilcanota River, returning to Cusco between 6:30 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.
PISAC ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX
The archaeological complex of Pisac, is located on top of a mountain, from this point there is an impressive view of a large part of the Sacred Valley. This marvelous place is made up of groups of platforms and architectural structures scattered on the slopes and at the top of the mountain. Pisac is one of the most beautiful monumental centers in the Valley as it combines the landscape with the impeccable finish of its buildings.
PISAC MARKET
Located 30 km from the city of Cusco, the main square of Pisac houses this market, a colorful and cheerful place, where the most famous Cusco crafts, made by Andean hands, are exhibited. Among the handicrafts, textile pieces, colorful ponchos and bags stand out. Ceramic crafts, which are reproductions of Inca archaeological pieces, such as Queros (ceremonial vessels), necklaces, among other items. Indigenous merchants and artisans from many towns come to this fair, dressed in their typical costumes.
OLLANTAYTAMBO
Lunch will be at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we will visit the fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley and protect it from possible invasions by the inhabitants of the jungle. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and thus have a clear idea of what this military, religious and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire.
CHINCHERO
On the way back to Cusco, we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will admire its constructions including its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the portico, built on the foundations of an Inca building. Transfer to the selected hotel in Cusco to spend the night.
